This will be my last post until after Christmas. So I wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas.
We finally got snow.
Here is the view of my window, you can see how high the snow came to the building.
I wanted to leave you with a few inspirations for your Christmas. If you are overwhelmed by the amount of cooking, or shopping, the holiday usually involves, and yes there are things we want to have as part of our traditions, I will leave you with some images of the enjoyment of simple foods and simple gifts that can still bring a smile to a face.
Remember it’s about being with our loved ones, not driving ourselves crazy to have the perfectly decorated home or the largest display of fancy foods.
And remember for a child a simple gift made by hand will be remembered for the love of your time that went into the gift now matter how silly.
A gift of our time is the best gift we can give anyone.

Well, it’s a little deceiving, we had strong winds that blew it around. Some areas are only covered with a few inches, other areas, like my door, are buried. Probably close to 10 inches total. Merry Christmas to you, hope the cold doesn’t make it a painful holiday for you.

Happy shoveling. I so love the rain. 🙂 Having the simplest Christmas ever. Passing the torch. If they don’t pick it up, it will just darn well go out. Life is too short for complicated. Enjoy the snow. Loved it when I was younger.

Not really one who loves the snow, but it’s not Christmas without it after all these years. Glad you are passing the torch, same here, it feels strange though, something I still have to get used to. Have a great Christmas.

I like snow once a year, on Christmas. I know we need the precipitation here but I would trade you the rest of winter for warm temperatures. Merry Christmas.

The blizzard hit us as well, in Michigan! Kind of makes it feel more like Christmas, doesn’t it? Have a wonderful holiday, and thanks for the pictures. I have enjoyed reading all that you have to share, and I am glad that we were able to cross paths in this way.

Bethany, I am so glad you have enjoyed reading my blog, as I have enjoyed reading about your life as well. Yes, the snow does make it feel more like Christmas, although I could have done without the lake-effect, which I’m sure you know about in Michigan. Have a great Christmas.

You are so right. Its not about keeping up the Jones but having fun with your own family – however that’s done! We had quite a simple Christmas that has left us pleasantly full, emotionally fulfilled, and with a few special gifts – there’s still plenty of money in the bank account for January! Hope you had a wonderful day! – Kara xx

Kara I am so glad you had a wonderful, and simple Christmas. Isn’t it nice to know you don’t have to pay the rest of the year for the fun on one day. The only type of time payment I ever used for Christmas was to use the lay-a-way plan at one store years ago.

Merry Christmas! Mine was the simplest it’s been and, yet not as simple as it could be. Thanks for the inspiration. Look forward to reading more in 2013.
